Suspected sockpuppets

At the very least, this is a clear case of WP:MEATPUPPET in an AfD.

WP:SID: Chonchonr created the article Elvin Aghayev. Angamk, VKWmi, Nomad25, and Taureanbull1985 cast a vote in the deletion discussion here: Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Elvin_Aghayev. None of the votes were based on WP policy.

WP:OCUSE: All accounts have few edits, some over a long period of time, which reduces the chance that they would happen to find the deletion discussion independently and participate in it. Khangrah (4 years 4 months old, with 95 edits), Angamk (4 years 2 months old, with 27 edits), Chonchonr (4 years 1 month old, with 21 edits), VKWmi ( 3 months old, with 8 edits), Nomad25 ( 1 month old, with 3 edits), Taureanbull1985 (1 month old, with 8 edits).

WP:IDART: Editors collaborated on Elvin_Aghayev (Chonchonr, Angamk, and Khangrah; Khangrah and Chonchonr doing so before AfD was made), VSoft Technologies Private Limited (Chonchonr, Angamk, and Khangrah), VSoft Corporation (Angamk, Khangrah), Diabetes mellitus (Chonchonr, Khangrah), Diabetes insipidus (Angamk, Taureanbull1985), Leadership by Virtue (Khangrah, VKWmi), Diabetes in dogs (Taureanbull1985, Nomad25)

Other users that frequently came up in the above articles frequently and might be related (I've added them to the suspected list, but not updated the WP:IDART list): Kamgo kh, Rootbott, TharmingamK, Doc Thar, Kuknalim ― Padenton|   14:46, 30 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

An additional piece of evidence is this Special:AbuseLog/3814809, the url added is a blogspot with a username suggesting 2 of the above users are the same person, and the contributors section of the blog indicates 3 WP users listed above might be the same person. Also, VSoft Corporation was created by Angamk, but began in Khangrah's userspace. ― Padenton|   15:22, 30 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I added eight more users to this: Stonemonument, Lstallanao, Boxz, Nahon, Chingrishon, Mythcollector, Karkao, and Ruthurl.
Angamk, Khangrah, VKWmi, Nomad25, and Taureanbull1985 have all participated as "keep" voters (with similarly weak keep arguments) at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Elvin Aghayev. So far, that's not evidence for sockpuppetry, and the first two of these have edit histories stretching back to 2011 and 2010 respectively. So when I first saw the AfD, with only the first three keeps, I wasn't particularly suspicious. However, by now VKWmi, Nomad25, and Taureanbull1985 have shown themselves to be obvious duck-test sockpuppets: they all have very few contributions outside the AfD, similarly-formatted user pages, and most significantly a shared interest in diabetes (a subject completely unrelated to the AfD). In fact, outside the AfD and user page, Nomad25 and Taureanbull1985 have only edited articles on diabetes, and these edits also account for two of the five non-AfD non-user edits of VKWmi. The user page for Nomad25 was created by Stonemonument, another user who began in 2011, who shares a similarly-written (though somewhat more elaborate) user page, who shares with VKWmi an editing interest in the article Wheebox Employability Skill Test, and who has edited the Elvin Aghayev article although not (yet) the AfD. Discovering these patterns led me to look back through the other two keepers, Khangrah and Angamk, and the other users who have edited Elvin Aghayev. Angamk has another similar-looking user page, few edits, and an interest in diabetes. Angamk, Khangrah, and VKWmi have all edited 3E Accounting Private Limited (also up for AfD but without any sockpuppet activity yet) and Angamk and Khangrah have both edited VSoft Corporation, and Khangrah also has a recent diabetes edit. TharminghamK has a similar user page, has edited since 2011, has few edits, and shares several articles (3E Accounting, diabetes, Leadership by Virtue, Wheebox) with the other socks. Kuknalim has a similar user page and again some shared articles (3E, VSiftm Wheebox). Lstallanao has a similar user page, few edits, and edits 3E and diabetes. Kamgo kh has a similar user page, few edits, and edits 3E, Leadership by Virtue, and diabetes. Chonchonr has a similar user page, created Elvin Aghayev, has edited diabetes and VSoft, and created Elvin Aghayev which Khangrah and Anhamk also edited. Boxz has a similar user page, few edits, and has edited both Elvin and diabetes. Doc Thar has a similar user page, few edits, and has edited Elvin, diabetes, and Leadership by Virtue. Nahon does not have a user page but has edited both Elvin and Leadership by Virtue. Chingrishon has a similar user page to the others and has edited Elvin, diabetes, and Leadership by Virtue. Mythcollector dates back to 2011, has a similar user page to Stonemonument and has edited Elvin, Leadership by Virtue, and VSoft. Karkao has a similar user page to most of the others and has edited Elvin and diabetes. Ruthurl has a similar user page, and has edited Elvin, Leadership by Virtue, and diabetes.
My strong suspicion is that this is sockpuppetry and not meatpuppetry, given the remarkable similarities in editing histories between these accounts, over multiple unrelated subjects. Given the long life of some of these accounts and their prolific number, I think a checkuser would be helpful to uncover more sleepers. —David Eppstein (talk) 20:38, 30 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Another article edited by many of these accounts is The Viral Fever; however, this has also been edited by many other non-socks. The editors include five accounts already listed for other reasons: Rootbott, Karkao, Doc Thar, Stonemonument, and Kuknalim. Among the other editors, the ones that look suspicious to me (added above) are DuContt, Drupan, and Snobker. All three have user pages that match the style of most of the rest of the suspected socks, have edited TVF, and have edited Leadership by Virtue, another frequent target of many of these accounts. In addition DuContt has also edited Elvin Aghayev and one of the diabetes articles. I added these three to the list of suspects. I also added Naorant; at first glance with no user page and contributions only to TVF, this one looks inconclusive/insufficient evidence, but Naorant has also a deleted contribution to an old version of Elvin Aghayev. Another new entry with no user page, Disharma, also has only two edits, but both are red flags: one to a diabetes article and one to deleted article 3E Accounting whose other editors are two suspected socks. —David Eppstein (talk) 23:41, 30 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Also adding Seisawo. Their only edits are to diabetes, but their user page in the same style was created by Lstallanao. —David Eppstein (talk) 01:06, 31 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Another one: Thing Gari. Has edited on multiple unrelated topics also edited by the other suspected socks including Leadership by Virtue, diabetes, and Nialaya Jewelry. —David Eppstein (talk) 01:37, 31 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
And an old one (probably stale): Pingmi. User page was created by Khangrah. Shared topics with Khangrah include National Socialist Council of Nagaland and Peh. —David Eppstein (talk) 02:33, 31 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I did some analysis of the topic clusters edited by these accounts (including deleted contributions), since they seem to be strangely varied and specific. I found the following, each edited by more than one account (and in some cases consisting of several related articles):

Each accused account other than Seisawo has edited at least two of these topics, and several accounts have edited many of these topics. —David Eppstein (talk) 21:08, 31 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Reaper Eternal: Can you (or I guess any other checkuser) re-evaluate your decline, please? A lot has changed here since you initially looked at this. I added a request for this on your talk page a couple days ago but I'm guessing you missed it in all the vandalism and reversion that's been happening there. —David Eppstein (talk) 21:59, 2 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I would like to add that my intention was never to request CheckUser for Meatpuppetry. I said at the minimum, this is a clear case of meatpuppetry, but the evidence I presented showed likely sockpuppetry as well. ― Padenton|   16:27, 7 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

This claim should be taken seriously. I cannot believe that this request has been turned down because "magic pixie dust". This isn't an argument. Mots of these appear to be socks and socks need to be sniffed out. Le petit fromage (talk) 23:48, 30 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
